A campaign to give British people from all walks of life the chance to vote on whether Britain should join a war against Iraq.

Our World Our Say is launching a campaign that with sufficient funds we will take to every person in Britain. The campaign aims to give the British public the chance to 'vote' on whether Britain is right to join a US led war with Iraq. The campaign is being launched with a full page advert in The Guardian. Readers will be invited to make their 'vote' and send a message to let Tony Blair know their opposition to war with Iraq.

Our World Our Say is a very recently formed organisation. It has been established as a result of discussions within a group of concerned people who have watched with horror the continued drive to war throughout 2002.

Despite the level of opposition to war with Iraq there have been few ways that ordinary people can let the Government know their views on this situation. Our World Our Say is aiming to enable people from all walks of life to express their concern directly to the Government.

If successful this initial advertising campaign may be broadened out into a range of other activities - to help to inform and empower people to act in this critical situation.
The issues are stark: Despite the lack of evidence that Iraq possesses weapons of mass destruction on a significant scale or the means to deliver those weapons into European countries or the US, the Prime Minister of Britain has given almost unequivocal backing to the US drive to war.

Britain, through its 'pairing' with the US is making itself one of the most hated nations on the planet. This fundamentally affects the security of British citizens at home and abroad.

Informed people from across the political spectrum are saying that a war against Iraq will make the lives of millions of people around the globe much less secure; that it will fuel international terrorism.

One of the greatest worries is that if this war goes ahead that it will be the first in a series of US led wars against countries named in President George W Bush's 'axis of evil'.

Tony Blair has indeed taken a momentous decision on behalf of the British people and every British person should now have the opportunity to challenge him.
