LEBANON ACTION: Join the urgent campaign to press Gordon Brown to act for peace
We are calling for the maintenance of a full ceasefire - The deliberate targeting by Hezbollah and Israel of civilians, constitute war crimes and are serious breaches of international law - to which the guilty should be held to account. The international community has a duty to help bring about peace in the region, that can only begin with the maintenance of a full ceasefire

Suggested wording (which you can copy & paste)
Dear Prime Minister
I demand you do all in your power to maintain a full ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel.
The disproportionate attacks by the Israeli armed forces and the violations
of international humanitarian law by both sides, only worsened the situation,
and to which the guilty must be held to account. The conflict had threatened to escalate across the region,
possibly drawing in both Iran and Syria, this threat still remains.
I am, like the majority of the British electorate, angry that Britain no longer
has an independent foreign policy, nor it seems any serious aspiration to
promote peace and a just, even-handed solution to the problems in the Middle
East. Your acceptance of being patronised by Bush both endangers the British
people and humiliates us. Your lack of policy is counter to the interests
of Britain and is feeding the conflict in Lebanon, for which the civilian
population of the region are paying a terrible price, and we will continue to feel its aftershocks.
I therefore urge you to break with Bush and listen to the voice of your own people and to those of the rest of
the world by maintaining a full ceasefire, and for you to assist in all ways in developing a peaceful settlement
across the region.
